Winward/HTP Motorsport has finalized its full driver lineup and program for the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, which will see its second Mercedes-AMG GT4 focused on a partial-season program.

HTP regular Indy Dontje will share driving duties of the second entry with team principal Bryce Ward for the rounds at Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta.

As previously announced, the team’s No. 33 Mercedes will be driven by Damien Faulkner and Russell Ward for the full ten-round Challenge.

The Houston-based team makes its Continental Tire Challenge debut after partnering with CJ Wilson Racing last year.

“It will be a busy January with Indy, Russell and myself participating in the 24 hours of Dubai in the last Winward/HTP event for the AMG GT4 Test Car,” Bryce Ward said. “I want to thank AMG and HTP for making this a reality it has been a great learning experience for us.”

Despite the busy schedule to kick off the year, Russell Ward said he’s looking forward to his second season in Continental Tire Challenge competition.

“This time last year was a little overwhelming, being my first drive in a professional series,” he said. “I’m heading into the ‘Roar’ this season with the same respect for the competition, but with more experience and a new found confidence.”

Faulkner added: “Last season was a building year for us, laying our foundations for the future. With the Mercedes AMG GT4 and our partnership with HTP Motorsport I believe we are in for a fantastically exciting season.

“We’re planning to hide nowhere and have nothing but the highest of expectations for 2018.”
