Ecurie Ecosse/Nielsen Sweeps LMP3 Cup at Brands Hatch

Ecurie Ecosse/Nielsen Racing drivers Colin Noble and Tony Wells took both wins of the LMP3 Cup Championship round at Brands Hatch on Saturday and Sunday.

The No. 1 Ligier JS P3 Nissan came out on top in both 60-minute races as the series had its smallest ever grid with a low of three cars in Race 2.

Noble and Wells started from third and second in the two races while Mectech Motorsport’s Bradley Smith and Duncan Williams started from pole in their Norma M30 Nissan.

Wells finished just 0.472 seconds ahead of Bonamy Grimes in the Red River Sport Ligier in Race 1, while Noble crossed the line 19 seconds clear in Race 2.

A ten-second penalty was later added to the leaders’ time for being out of position at the start.

A heavy crash in Race 2 qualifying on Sunday morning took the Speedworks Motorsport car of Jack Butel and Dominic Paul out of the weekend, reducing the field to just the Nielsen, Red River and Mectech entries.

RESULTS: Brands Hatch
