30 Cars Tentatively on Road America CTSC Entry List

Ahead of Round 7 for the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge season at Road America next Saturday, the entry list is more noticeable for the cars absent than the cars entered.

As it stands, a combination of 10 GS and 20 ST cars make up a tentative 30-car entry list for the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase.

The biggest absence in the GS field at the moment is Rum Bum Racing, whose No. 13 Porsche 911 driven by Hugh and Matt Plumb is currently not entered.

Racers’ Edge Motorsports is also absent, which at the moment removes all of the previous generation Ford Mustang Boss 302Rs from the field.

Fall-Line Motorsports has added a second BMW M3 for team principal Mark Boden and Road America ace Tonis Kasemets for the Buffalo Grove, Ill.-based team’s home race.

However, repairs if not a new entire chassis will be needed for the team’s primary No. 46 car driven by Ashley Freiberg and defending GS class champion Trent Hindman, after Freiberg was nudged off course on the opening lap in Lime Rock Park.

A handful of expected ST cars are also not currently listed, including the trio of Rennsport One Porsche Caymans which have been late entries at other events this season.

Burton Racing is also not listed; 2013 class champions Terry Borcheller and Mike LaMarra won this race last year in their No. 23 BMW 128i.

Rebel Rock Racing’s pair of Porsche Caymans and the second LAP Motorsports MINI JCW are also absent from the entry list.

As CKS Autosport is no longer active in the championship (Mantella Autosport acquired its pair of Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.Rs) and if Burton opts not to enter, it would leave this race without its defending champions from a year ago.
