Sebastian Landy has claimed pole for Saturday’s Oak Tree Grand Prix at Virginia International Raceway, in his GS class debut in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge.

Landy reeled off a 1:56.929 in the No. 99 Automatic Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4, outpacing Danny Burkett’s No. 33 CJ Wilson Racing Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport by 0.354 seconds.

It marked the first pole for Aston Martin in the series since Kansas 2014 and the first for the team this year.

Landy, a front-runner in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama series, will share driving duties with Rob Ecklin in tomorrow’s two-hour and 30-minute race.

GS championship leader Scott Maxwell will roll off from third on the grid in his No. 15 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R-C, with Paul Holton in fourth in the C3650R Ford.

The top four in the class were separated by less than eight-tenths.

Kevin Boehm, meanwhile, gave Honda its first class pole of the year and the first of his career in ST.

Boehm took his No. 92 HART Honda Civic Si to a fast lap of 2:04.660, edging out the No. 84 BimmerWorld BMW 328i of James Clay by 0.064 seconds.

It was the first pole for Honda in Continental Tire Challenge competition since Road Atlanta 2014 and the first for the Ohio-based HART team since Sebring that same year.

Boehm will share driving duties with Cameron Lawrence on Saturday.

Clay’s times, however, were disallowed after the car was found to have exceeded the maximum negative camber, promoting Chad Gilsinger to second and making it an all HART Honda front-row in class.

The Oak Tree Grand Prix gets underway Saturday at 1:55 p.m. ET with live coverage on IMSA.tv.
