Pumpelly Scores CTSC Pole at Lime Rock

Spencer Pumpelly scores third Continental Tire Challenge pole of season…

Spencer Pumpelly will start Saturday’s Continental Tire 120 from the pole, with the RS1 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR edging out a trio of Mercedes-AMG GT4s for the top qualifying position.

Pumpelly recorded a best lap of 55.025 seconds in GS qualifying Friday  afternoon at Lime Rock Park.

It marked Pumpelly’s third pole of the season in as many qualifying attempts for the former Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge class champion.

Owen Trinkler qualified second in the No. 46 Team TGM Mercedes-AMG GT4, followed by Alexandre Premat and Jeff Mosing, also both in Mercedes machinery,

Tyler McQuarrie completed the top-five in the No. 39 CarBahn Motorsports Audi R8 LMS GT4.

The top 14 GS cars were separated by less than one-second in the hotly contested session.

O’Gorman Takes Maiden TCR Pole

Tom O’Gorman stormed to his first career pole in a hotly contested TCR class this weekend.

O’Gorman reeled off a fast lap of 55.747 seconds in the No. 12 eEuroparts.com Racing Audi RS 3 LMS TCR to edge out the No. 77 Compass Racing Audi of Britt Casey Jr. by 0.344 seconds.

Jonathan Morley was third in a debuting Audi entry from Roadshagger Racing.

ST class pole honors, meanwhile, went to the No. 81 BimmerWorld BMW 328i of Nick Galante.

The Lime Rock Park 120 gets underway Saturday at 11:10 a.m. EDT with live coverage on IMSA.tv.
