CJ Wilson Racing isn’t the only Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge ST team to shift its focus from a full-season ST program to GS with the new Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport.

Team TGM, founded in 1991 as T. Giovanis Motorsports, is also making the switch for 2016.

The team trades its tried-and-true BMW 328i for one of the new Cayman GT4s, with David Murry and Ted Giovanis continuing as the driver pairing of the No. 64 entry. The team has ordered two cars but only plans to race one.

“This is a huge change for our team,” Giovanis said.  “There is still a lot of learn about the car, but that doesn’t mean we’re not going to be competitive. We’re very excited. The new car is a good platform, and it’s something that can be developed.”

Murry and Giovanis briefly led the ST class points standings after the opening two rounds of the season, but struggled from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca onward.

They’re the third team to confirm a Cayman GT4 acquisition within the Continental Tire Challenge, along with Wilson’s team and Bodymotion Racing.
