McCumbee Joins PF Racing for Selected Races

Former IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge class champion Chad McCumbee will join PF Racing for selected races this season starting with the series’ restart at Sebring International Raceway on July 17.

McCumbee is no stranger to the Missouri-based squad as he helped the team claim class victory in the California 8 Hours Intercontinental GT Challenge event last year.

He has also served as a coach to James Pesek, who only started professional racing in 2017.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with PF Racing before, and I look forward to being a part of their 2020 program,” McCumbee said.

“Jr and James do an amazing job keeping their entire team working together as one.

“The family atmosphere is exactly what I like in a race team. After working with James earlier this season, we have a similar feel to what we want in a race car, and I feel that will be an important asset in getting our Ford out front.”

James Pesek added: “Chad and I work very well together. He pushes me to perfect my driving skills and understands how I like to set up the car.

“We are a good match; I’m thrilled to be working with him again.”

McCumbee will be joining Pesek in the No. 40 Ford Mustang GT4 for all remaining Pilot Challenge races except Road America, Virginia International Raceway, and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta due to previous commitments with his CARS Tour campaign.

“We are happy to have Chad join the team once again,” said team owner Jr Pesek. “Not only is he an excellent driver but with his experience behind the wheel and as a team owner, he is a great asset to our growing effort.”
