After months of speculation, IMSA released the calendar for the 2014 Tudor United SportsCar Championship Friday.

Featuring a 12-race schedule, the unified North American series kicks off at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January, with trips to Sebring, Long Beach, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Detroit, Watkins Glen, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Road America, Virginia International Raceway, Circuit of the Americas and Road Atlanta for the season-ending 1,000-mile/10-hour Petit Le Mans.

In a surprising move, the Long Beach street race will feature the Prototype and GT Le Mans classes only, while Detroit will feature cars from the Prototype, Prototype Challenge and GT Daytona categories. Additionally, the round at VIR will feature two races; One for GTLM and GTD, and another for PC only.

Race lengths, other than the key events at Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen and Road Atlanta, were not disclosed.

Notably absent from the schedule are events at Lime Rock Park, Barber Motorsports Park, Mid-Ohio and Kansas Speedway, which all hosted rounds of the Rolex Series this year. The Grand Prix of Baltimore, which featured the ALMS for the past three years, will also not return following the overall cancelation of the event.

“We had many interested parties but for 2014, we only considered facilities from our 2013 Rolex Series and ALMS schedules, “said IMSA CEO Ed Bennett. “That was in fairness to our existing track partners, who have been such strong supporters of both series.

“The first TUDOR United SportsCar Championship season will feature iconic tracks deeply rich in history. We are very proud of this group of 12 facilities which have been selected for the inaugural season.”

Additionally, pre-season tests have been scheduled for Nov. 16-17 at Sebring and Nov. 19-20 at Daytona. The annual “Roar Before the Rolex 24” is believed to be Jan. 3-5, 2014, although not yet officially confirmed.
