How would you assess your year so far with Lexus and 3GT?

“I would say that this year has been successful, but tough. After some ups and downs I can confidently say that we have become much stronger as a unit.”

What have the biggest adjustments been for you after several years of racing prototypes?

“The most apparent change for me has been the need for a GT car to be driven more mildly. I was used to no ABS or traction control, a light car, and a lot of downforce. You can really ring the neck of a car like that.”

How exciting has it been to be a part of the development process of a new car?

“The development process has been very enjoyable for me. It’s very cool to see a change in our Lexus RC F GT3 or the setup go from idea to reality and make a positive impact on performance.

“It is also invaluable to me in that everything I have been a part of this year has definitely made me an all-around better driver.”

What are your goals for the remainder of the season?

“The top step of the podium!”

Where did your interest in motorsports originate?

“While I’ve always been interested in cars, but I never really thought about racing cars until I got my driver’s license at 16. The day that I drove a car by myself for the first time a feeling of freedom came over me.

“I didn’t quite understand the feeling, but I knew it felt good and very natural. I spent the next couple of years driving through the canyons with friends. When I turned 18 I moved near the local kart track and took night classes so I could practice every day.”
