IMSA makes its return to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend. Check out the Continental Tire Keys to the Race for Sunday’s Acura Sports Car Challenge.

Continental Tire Keys to the Race: 

Race: Acura Sports Car Challenge

Track: Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (2.25-mile, 13 turns)

Length: 2 hours, 40 minutes

Entries: 34 cars spread across three classes: 14 cars (P), 8 cars (GTLM), 12 cars (GTD)

Schedule:

Friday, May 4 (all times CT)
Practice 1 – 9:45-10:45 a.m.
Practice 2 – 3-4 p.m.

Saturday, May 5
Practice 3 – 8:35-9:35 a.m.
Qualifying –  12:05-1:10 p.m.
CTSC Race – 2:20-4:20 p.m. (2 hours)

Sunday, May 6
Warm-up – 8 – 8:20 a.m.
Race –  1:05 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. (2 hours, 40 minutes)

Driver Insight: –  “It’s a really fun track, kind of small and there will be a lot of traffic. I love the section from Turn 4 all the way to Turn 9. The Esses portion, even if they are medium speed corners, they require perfect lines and big focus to do it properly.” – Alessandro Balzan, No. 63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 488 GT3

Drive Times: Minimum: 45 minutes for GTD drivers;  10-minute base time P, GTLM; Maximum: None

Tires: Continental Tire “Black” for P and GTD. Multiple tire brands/compounds for GTLM

Pit Stops: 40-45 minute stint length for P; 50-55 minutes for GTLM, GTD

Weather: Partly Cloudy, High: 67 F, 10 percent chance of rain
