Patrick Long will join Daniel Morad in the No. 28 Alegra Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R for this weekend’s Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park, in late addition to the grid for the first GT-only round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.

Porsche confirmed Monday that the longtime factory driver will make his debut with the Florida-based team, which was initially not on the entry list for the race.

Long will make his second WeatherTech Championship start of the season, after teaming with CORE autosport at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January.

The 35-year-old Californian has four GT class wins at Lime Rock, as well as two pole positions at the Connecticut circuit.

It will mark the fourth different co-driver for Morad in the last four races, with Porsche Young Professional Mathieu Jaminet having been in the car at Detroit, followed by factory driver Michael Christensen at Watkins Glen and Michael de Quesada earlier this month at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Morad currently sits seventh in the GT Daytona class championship, having won the Rolex 24 alongside Christensen, de Quesada, Jesse Lazare and team owner Carlos de Quesada.

The added entry brings the GTD car count up to 17 entries for Saturday’s two-hour and 40-minute race, which also features the GT Le Mans class.

Other additions to the grid for Lime Rock include the return of TRG with its Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 for James Davison and Brandon Davis, as well as the No. 23 Alex Job Racing Audi R8 LMS with Bill Sweedler and Townsend Bell.

Track action gets underway on Friday.
