Nasr Quickest in Night Session at Roar

Felipe Nasr set the fastest overall time so far of the Roar Before the 24 in Session 5 under the lights of Daytona International Speedway.

The Brazilian put the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R at the top of the combined session sheets with a lap of 1:37.322.

Cadillac DPis have led each of the first five sessions this weekend.

Jordan Taylor came close to surpassing Nasr’s mark late in the night practice, ultimately setting the second fastest time just 0.055 seconds shy of the AXR entry in the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac.

Christian Fittipaldi checked in with the third-fastest mark in the No. 5 AXR car, followed by Eddie Cheever III in the No. 90 Spirit of Daytona Cadillac, and Fabian Habsburg in the No. 78 Jackie Chan DCR JOTA Oreca 07 Gibson.

Sebastien Bourdais was quickest in GT Le Mans for Ford Chip Ganassi Racing.

The Frenchman’s best time of 1:43.798 was 0.555 seconds faster than Gimmi Brunni’s No. 912 Porsche 911 RSR in second place.

Grasser Racing Team’s Session 1 time still stands as the fastest lap in GT Daytona so far at the Roar in the No. 11 Lamborghini Huracan GT3, while Dominik Baumann was best in class in the No. 14 3GT Racing Lexus RC F GT3.

Manthey Racing checked in second on the combined class time charts in its No. 59 Porsche 911 GT3 R, with the sister No. 19 GRT Lamborghini third.

Testing resumes Sunday morning with Session 6 at 10:45 a.m. ET, followed by qualifying for pit box and garage locations.

RESULTS: Session 5
