Wright Motorsports has withdrawn its No. 16 Porsche 911 GT3 R from this weekend’s Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park due to a scheduling conflict for Michael Schein.

Schein was due to drive alongside Wolf Henzler, in the German’s final scheduled appearance of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season.

According to a team statement, the decision to pull the car came late on Thursday due to an “unpredicted scheduling conflict” for Schein.

The car is slated to return for the remaining two-hour and 40-minute races of the year at Road America, Virginia International Raceway and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca but without Henzler, who has previous commitments.

The team will therefore focus its efforts on the season-long entry of Patrick Long and Christina Nielsen this weekend.

The No. 16 Porsche’s withdrawal has resulted in a ten-car GT Daytona grid the GT-only round, alongside the eight GT Le Mans class entries for the eighth round of the season.
