A pair of IMSA Cooper Tire Prototype Lites drivers, Todd Slusher and John Falb, will make their TUDOR United SportsCar Championship debuts at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca with BAR1 Motorsports in Prototype Challenge.

Slusher and Falb will share the No. 16 Oreca FLM09 for Brian Alder’s team. Sean Rayhall, a PC class standout a year ago for 8Star Motorsports, serves as Slusher and Falb’s driving coach.

Alder confirmed to Sportscar365 the team will only run one car this race, as Tom Papadopoulos will be unavailable once again with another business commitment.

Slusher is the current Lites 2 championship leader while Falb is the reigning Lites 1 Masters champion and current Masters points leader. Prototype Lites is not on the Mazda Raceway schedule this year.

“I’m really excited about this opportunity,” Slusher said. “It’s one of those things you dream about, never knowing if it could all come together. To have it actually become a reality now is very exciting.”

Both drivers have experience in TUDOR Championship competition, as both raced against PC class cars during the combined PC/Prototype Lites races at Kansas Speedway and Virginia International Raceway last year.
