A total of 24 cars, including 11 LMP3 entries, are set for this weekend’s second round of the IMSA Prototype Challenge presented by Mazda series at Barber Motorsports Park.

ENTRY LIST: Barber

The event, run on the Verizon IndyCar Series weekend, will mark the IMSA debut of the ACO’s junior prototype formula on a natural terrain road course, following last month’s successful season-opener at Sebring.

Nico Jamin, who swept the inaugural LMP3 weekend in the U.S., is absent from the entry list, with ANSA Motorsports fielding only a single Ligier JS P3 for Matt Dicken.

However, former L1 class champion Kenton Koch is a notable addition to the class, in a third P1 Motorsports Ligier, and is set to complete the remainder of the season with the Florida-based team.

The Norma M30 is set for its second race on U.S. soil, fresh off its European debut in last weekend’s European Le Mans Series season-opener at Silverstone, while a single Ave-Riley AR-2 is also entered, again for Paul Fix.

Performance Tech Motorsports only has one LMP3 car entered, a Ligier for Andreas Gutierrez, with Alan Wilzig’s Ginetta absent.

Thirteen Elan DP02s, meanwhile, are set to do battle in the MPC class, which challenged some of the LMP3s for overall honors, with it again expected to be the case this weekend in Alabama.

The first of the two 45-minute races will take the green flag at 3:45 p.m. CDT on Friday, while Race 2 takes place Saturday at 12:00 p.m. That race will stream live from 11:50 to 12:45 p.m. CDT on IMSA.TV.

Delayed television coverage will be provided on May 4 on FS2.
