Fittipaldi Fastest in Roar Fifth Test Session

Action Express leads fifth Roar test session at Daytona…

Christian Fittipaldi led the fifth test session at the Roar Before the Rolex 24 test in the No. 5 Action Express Racing Corvette DP at 1:39.933, as times were slower than earlier Saturday at Daytona International Speedway.

A reduced number of cars ran in the session (13 P, 7 PC, 8 GTLM and 15 GTD) in the session that ran late afternoon.

Daytona Prototype-spec cars were positions 1-6 in this session with the fastest P2-spec chassis, the No. 57 Krohn Racing Ligier JS P2 Judd, in seventh at 0.957 of a second off the pace.

Other class leaders included Bruno Junqueira (No. 11 RSR Racing Oreca FLM09, PC), Earl Bamber (No. 912 Porsche North America Porsche 911 RSR, GTLM), and Marc Goossens (No. 33 Riley Motorsports Dodge Viper GT3-R0.

Performance Tech Motorsports spent time in the garage during the session following an incident for its No. 38 Oreca FLM09. Driver Jerome Mee was evaluated and released from the infield care center.

The fourth session of the day and sixth of the weekend for the TUDOR Championship, night practice, occurs tonight from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. ET and local time.
