Notable racer and motorsports businessman Darren Law will join Flying Lizard Motorsports as Program Manager in the team’s continued sports car efforts.

Previously a driver for the California-based team, Law will leave his role as Chief Operations Officer at Bondurant School of High Performance Driving and will be involved in team management and operations, manage the race team’s relationships with manufacturers, partners, sponsors and customers as well as driver coaching and driver development.

“It is great to have Darren back as a Lizard,” said team Principal and driver Seth Neiman. “He has remained close to the team in the years since he drove with us, and in some ways it feels like he never left.

“His time as COO at Bondurant gives him great insight into the business of racing, sponsors, and manufacturer partnerships – I expect he will have a big impact in these and many other areas.”

With many years of experience in motorsports as a race car driver as well as his most recent position in the business side of the industry, Law’s extensive resume will prove beneficial to the continued development of Flying Lizard Motorsports.

Law spent six years as an instructor at the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving before leaving to pursue professional racing career for more than a decade in the American Le Mans Series, Rolex Sports Car Series and IMSA.

Present at the start of Flying Lizard Motorsports, Law drove for the team from 2004 to 2012. In 2011, the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving invited him to return, offering the role of COO, overseeing the day to day operations of the business, as well as corporate partner negotiations and relations.

“My time as the COO was a great business learning experience,” Law said. “Bondurant has been part of my life in many ways, from driver training to business management. Bondurant was based at Sonoma for 20 years. I’m going back to one of the original tracks the school is famous for and I am looking forward to this new opportunity with the team that I have so much history with.

“Bondurant has been a huge part of my life and will continue to be just as Flying Lizard Motorsports has been as well. I feel I can give the program a unique perspective that can assist with the challenging situations a race weekend presents.”

In addition to joining the current management lineup of team Manager Eric Ingraham, chief strategist Thomas Blam, and crew chief Tommy Sadler, Law will incorporate his driving and data set up and analysis to the program.

“The Lizards and myself have dedicated our careers to setting ourselves apart from other drivers, teams and programs,” Law added. “With that in mind, we’re laying the groundwork for an even stronger program for our drivers, manufacturers and partners. Each member has something to contribute and I’m excited to be a part of it.”
