As previously revealed by Sportscar365, DC Racing will expand into a two-car operation in the Asian Le Mans Series, confirming Saturday a LMP2 and LMP3 program for the 2016/2017 season.

The Chinese squad, which will run under the Jackie Chan DC Racing banner, will enter an Oreca 03 Nissan, in addition to its 2015/2016 championship-winning Ligier JS P3.

Three-time series champion and team owner David Cheng will pilot one of the two cars, with the full driver lineup to be announced at a later date.

The team initially evaluated running its FIA World Endurance Championship-entered Alpine A460 Nissan in the series but has ruled it out due to the season-opener at Zhuhai occurring one week before the Shanghai WEC race.

“Due to logistical reasons and conflict of dates between the several championships, it was impossible to with our Alpine A460, which we deeply regret,” Cheng said.

“However, after our championship-winning debut season this is an important new step for our team for the future.

“The growing involvement of Jackie Chan is a big commitment for our young team that now has every step of the ACO ladder for young drivers to climb.”

Team principal Remy Brouard added: “We are very pleased to enter this fourth season in Asia in addition to our program in the FIA WEC with the Baxi-DC Racing Alpine.

“We will not be bored this winter!”
