There will be a new LMP2 team on the European Le Mans Series grid for the remainder of the 2015 season, with Algarve Pro Racing announcing their plans to race the final three rounds of the year.

Samantha Cox, team manager of Algarve Pro Racing, confirmed a newfound partnership with Australian financial institution Equity-One which ensured their upcoming presence on the grid.

“It’s with great joy that we can announce our return to ELMS,” said Cox. “Thanks to our new partner Equity-One, we will participate in the remainder of the season.

“We will be racing at Red Bull Ring, Le Castellet and Estoril and we can also announce that our drivers will be the British Michael Munemann and James Winslow, who was Michael Munemann’s partner in the 2014 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the Italian Andrea Roda, who has already tested with us at Motorland [Aragon] and Paul Ricard and is now very much looking forward to competing in the final three ELMS events.”

But the ELMS is not the only series the Portuguese team is targeting in the near future.

“We are also able to announce that Algarve Pro Racing will also participate in the Asian Le Mans Series,” Cox said.

Specifics on this likely foray into Asia have yet to be announced.

The team is set to field a Dunlop-shod No. 25 Ligier JS P2 Nissan with the aforementioned drivers in the next ELMS race, which will take place in Austria.

The Four Hours of Red Bull Ring will run on July 11-12.
