Audi factory driver Rahel Frey will join Manuela Gostner and Michelle Gatting in an all-female lineup run by Kessel Racing for the full European Le Mans Series season.

The trio, who competed together at the Gulf 12 Hours in December, will share a Ferrari 488 GTE entered by the Swiss team.

They finished second in the GT3 Pro-Am class at the Abu Dhabi race, also driving a Ferrari entered by Kessel.

Gostner and Frey both have considerable experience in GT racing, with the latter still signed to Audi and expected to compete for the brand in Asia this season.

Danish driver Gatting has driven in the OK Mobil 1 Danish Supertourisme Turbo and MASCOT Danish Thundersport Championship recently and has previous experience in Porsche Carrera Cup Germany and International GT Open.

Kessel has applied for an entry into the 24 Hours of Le Mans with its all-female lineup.

“After a great first outing together at the Gulf 12 Hour race in Abu Dhabi last year, Manuela, Rahel and Michelle have been given a well-deserved opportunity to compete in the full ELMS season,” said Michele Mouton, president of FIA Women in Motorsport Commission.

“Being given that chance by Kessel Racing, which fields top-class racing cars, really goes to show that female racers are more than capable of fighting at the front when they are given the right opportunities.

“A really big thank you to Kessel Racing, to the ELMS and the ACO for their support. Naturally we will be following their results with great interest.”
