Graff Racing has scored a surprise pole for Sunday’s Four Hour of Monza, with Enzo Guibbert leading an Oreca 07 Gibson 1-2-3 for the second round of the European Le Mans Series season.

The Silver-rated Guibbert took his French-run entry to a blazing 1:36.526 lap time, edging out the No. 21 DragonSpeed Oreca of Nico Lapierre by 0.115 seconds.

It marked Graff’s first LMP2 pole in only its second race in the top prototype ranks.

Guibbert will share driving duties with Eric Trouilet and Paul Petitt in tomorrow’s race.

The No. 22 G-Drive Racing Oreca of Ryo Hirakawa will roll off third on the grid, with the Silverstone race-winning No. 32 United Autosports Ligier JS P217 Gibson the best of the non-Orecas in fourth.

Algarve Pro Racing completed the top-five, also in a Ligier, with the best Dallara P217 Gibson being the No. 47 Cetilar Villorba Corse in sixth.

United Autosports grabbed top qualifying honors in LMP3, with Wayne Boyd reeling off a 1:45.725 in the No. 3 Ligier JS P3 Nissan in the ten-minute session.

It was just 0.048 seconds quicker than Ricky Capo in the No. 19 M. Racing – YMR Norma M30 Nissan, which will line up second in class.

Matt Griffin, meanwhile, scored the GTE class pole, taking his No. 55 Spirit of Race Ferrari 488 GTE to a quick lap of 1:48.027.

The Irishman edged out the No. 50 Larbre Competition Corvette C7.R, in a one-off appearance in the ELMS, by less than two-tenths.

The No. 77 Proton Competition Porsche 911 RSR of Matteo Cairoli completed the top-three.

The Four Hours of Monza gets underway Sunday at 1:30 p.m. local time.
