Ryo Hirakawa has gone quickest in Free Practice 2 for the European Le Mans Series Four Hours of Spa-Francorchamps after missing the last two rounds of the season.

The Japanese driver set a lap time of 2:03.058 in the No. 22 G-Drive Racing Oreca 07 Gibson that he shares with championship leaders Memo Rojas and Leo Roussel.

Hirakawa was replaced by Nicolas Minassian for the last two races owing to his Super GT duties in Japan.

Gustavo Yacaman was the second fastest driver of the morning session in his Graff-run Oreca, while United Autosports’ Filipe Albuquerque was third.

The Anglo-American team led the way in the LMP3 class with its No. 3 Ligier JS P3 Nissan driven by Wayne Boyd, who went almost 1.5 seconds quicker than second-placed Jakub Smiechowski in the Inter Europol Competition car.

TF Sport topped the GTE ranks, over one second clear of the JMW Motorsport Ferrari 488 GTE in second.

Nicki Thiim set the fastest lap time for the TF Sport crew, a 2:17.901, while Will Stevens was the best of the JMW drivers in his first ELMS weekend since last year’s Spa round.

Qualifying will get started at 1:35 p.m. local time.
