Two European customers have committed to the new Ligier JS P3 LMP3 chassis, in the form of two British teams, RLR msport and Counter Solutions.

RLR’s chassis is due for delivery in either October or November, with testing to follow shortly thereafter. The team is committed to the European Le Mans Series next year.

“The plan is to run the car in the 2016 ELMS championship with two or three top line drivers who are looking to further their career in prototype racing,” said RLR team principal Nick Reynolds.

Added Mike Smith, who will partner with the team and may race selected events, “I have known Nick and family for over 25 years, and I am confident that Nick’s association with the University of Bolton and his track record in LMP2 and LMP3 is more than capable of achieving the targets we are going to set.”

Steve Donovan’s Counter Solutions company will race in the V de V series, with ELMS possible.

“Counter Solutions ordered a Ligier JS P3 car because of the outstanding quality of the whole car and the benefits the JS P3 car has gained from the knowledge gathered within Ligier/Onroak Automotive on the LMP2 project,” Donovan said. “For me, this made it the only real LMP3 car to consider.”

Graff, Extreme Limite and Eurointernational have also committed to the Ligier JS P3.
