36 Full-Season Entries for WEC

2018/19 FIA World Endurance Championship entry list confirmed…

The entry list for the 2018/19 FIA World Endurance Championship season has been released, featuring an expanded 36-car grid for the upcoming ‘Super Season.’

The largest-ever full-season WEC field will see entries from 12 different countries, with a revitalized LMP1 grid of ten cars, expanded ten-car field in GTE-Pro with the arrival of BMW, along with a strengthened GTE-Am class.

Additionally, the Dallara P217 and Ligier JS P217 will be represented with full-season entries for the first time in LMP2, in a class that sees seven entries.

Among the newly confirmed additions is a second full-season entry from Manor, now known as CEFC TRSM Racing, a LMP2 effort from DragonSpeed, with nominated driver Roberto Gonzalez, as well as the return of Larbre Competition with a full-season entry for its Ligier.

Nine GTE-Am entries, meanwhile, have been confirmed, including four mid-engined Porsche 911 RSRs, with newcomers Project 1 set for its endurance racing debut and a the return of a second full-season entry from Proton Competition.

TF Sport, meanwhile, is set to make its WEC debut, along with the AF Corse-run MR Racing squad.

“It’s very satisfying to have 36 competitors including six major manufacturers and a good balance between prototypes and GTEs. This is just the start!” WEC CEO Gerard Neveu said.

“Now the show goes on and we are confident the figures will continue to increase as they have done for the last six years. Welcome to the Super Season!”
