Could Tom Kristensen be hanging up the helmet at the end of this year?

According to Danish press, the nine-time Le Mans winner and reigning FIA World Endurance Champion has scheduled a press conference for Wednesday in Copenhagen to discuss his future.

Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich, Head of Audi Motorsport, will also be in attendance.

The 47-year-old Dane has been rumored of potentially calling time on his illustrious career recently, following his record-extending ninth overall win at Le Mans in 2013.

Kristensen has spent the last 15 years as an Audi factory driver, having enjoyed numerous wins and championships with the German manufacturer.

Longtime Audi teammate Allan McNish retired from top-level motorsport last year following he, Kristensen and Loic Duval’s FIA WEC drivers’ title.

The FIA WEC concludes with the Six Hours of Sao Paulo on Nov. 28-30.
