As revealed by Sportscar365 last week, Audi LMP1 refugee Lucas Di Grassi will join AF Corse’s GTE-Pro lineup for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Di Grassi was confirmed by Ferrari on Friday, with the Brazilian set to complete the lineup in the No. 51 Ferrari 488 GTE alongside full-season FIA World Endurance Championship drivers James Calado and Alessandro Pier Guidi.

It will mark Di Grassi’s first experience in a GT car, after four years in LMP1 competition.

“I’m very happy to be back at the 24 Hours of Le Mans,” Di Grassi said. “Every professional racing driver wants to be part of history and to race for Ferrari means a lot to me.

“Manufacturer backed GTE-Pro is undoubtedly the best place to be after my four years in LMP1.”

Former Audi DTM driver Miguel Molina, meanwhile, will complete the team’s lineup in the No. 71 car for Le Mans, with the Spaniard moving over from the No. 54 Spirit of Race Ferrari, which he will drive for all regular-season six-hour races.

A replacement for Molina in the GTE-Am class entry has not yet been announced but is likely to be another Ferrari factory driver.
