Brendon Hartley topped the time sheets in Free Practice 2 in Mexico, in another Porsche 1-2, with Toyota struggling for pace.

The 2015 FIA World Endurance Champion reeled off a 1:25.007 in the No. 2 Porsche 919 Hybrid to go quickest in the 90-minute session, ending up nearly a half-second quicker than Friday’s pace-setting No. 1 Porsche.

The pair of Toyota TS050 Hybrids were third and fourth quickest, 1.6 and 2.3 seconds adrift, respectively.

The No. 38 Jackie Chan DC Racing Oreca 07 Gibson of Ho-Pin Tung led the way in LMP2, with Marco Sorenson (Aston Martin Racing) and Matteo Cairoli (Dempsey Proton Racing) quickest in GTE-Pro and GTE-Am, respectively.

No major incidents were reported, other than a spin for the No. 25 CEFC Manor TRS Racing Oreca of Roberto Gonzalez, who made slight contact with the barriers, and Sorenson running into the escape road in Turn 10, before continuing.

Free Practice 3 is set for 1:45 p.m. local time, followed by qualifying the evening.

RESULTS: Free Practice 2
