Neel Jani is out front in the Six Hours of Circuit of The Americas after the first three hours have been completed, but leading Mike Conway by just 1.7 seconds.

Jani has just taken over his No. 1 Porsche 919 Hybrid from Nick Tandy after the LMP1 cars’ third round of pit stops while the No. 7 Toyota TS050 Hybrid of Conway runs in second.

Sebastien Buemi is third in the No. 8 Toyota and down by 8.3 seconds on the leader while Timo Bernhard’s No. 2 Porsche is 13 seconds back in fourth position.

The Signatech Alpine Matmut-run Alpine A470 Gibson still leads the LMP2 field after a strong run by Nicolas Lapierre, Gustavo Menezes and Andre Negrao.

The pair of Vaillante Rebellion cars are second and third in class.

AF Corse leads GTE-Pro 1-2 with its pair of Ferrari 488 GTEs currently driven by James Calado and Davide Rigon, while Nicki Thiim’s Aston Martin Vantage GTE is third.

Matt Griffin heads the GTE-Am field with a -second lead over Pedro Lamy’s Aston Martin.

Michael Wainwright spun into the gravel late in the third hour, damaging the rear wing on his No. 86 Gulf Racing Porsche 911 RSR. The safety car was later brought out to carry out barrier repairs.

It is the first neutralization of a relatively incident-free race so far.
