The No. 24 CEFC Manor TRS Racing Oreca 07 Gibson has been given a seven-minute stop-and-hold penalty to be served during Sunday’s Six Hours of Nürburgring for an incident involving Jonathan Hirschi in Free Practice 2.

Hirschi was deemed to have overtaken and made contact with the No. 66 Ford GT during the red flag, which resulted in the LMP2 car spinning.

The stewards considered the incident to have been a “serious fault” to the Swiss driver, with his explanation of checking his speed limiter “not excusing his behavior.”

The cause of the red flag was for a photographer that had walked into a run-off area on the track.

Per the stewards, the penalty will have to be served during the race on the discretion of the race director.

It will be one of two cars to serve stop-and-hold penalties, with the No. 26 G-Drive Racing Oreca subject to a three-minute infraction due to Roman Rusinov’s incident with the No. 88 Proton Competition Porsche 911 RSR of Khaled Al Qubaisi at Le Mans.
