The new Oreca 05 has begun its testing program today, with the French-built LMP2 car turning its first laps at Paul Ricard in preparation for its debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship and European Le Mans Series.

ORECA released the first official photo of the car, which will be run by KCMG in the FIA WEC this year.

Stephane Sarrazin handled shakedown duties of the car, with the Toyota factory driver and longtime ORECA pilot completing the initial mileage in the car.

Crew from the Hong Kong-based KCMG squad ran the car in conjunction with ORECA engineers on Monday.

Thiriet by TDS Racing will be the other initial customer of the coupe, which will run in the ELMS and 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Additional testing is expected prior to the official pre-season ELMS and FIA WEC tests at Paul Ricard.
