The British squad, which announced earlier this month a move away from its self-developed Dome S103, conducted an initial shakedown of the Gibson-Nissan today at the Turweston Airfield in England.

“The Gibson went together well and as a proven car, we didn’t experience any issues during build up and this initial running,” said technical director Jay Davenport.

“We now go straight to the Nürburgring test on July 26 before returning to UK to paint it and apply the livery ahead of the race weekend.”

Danny Watts, Jonny Kane and Nick Leventis will pilot the open-top LMP2 car, with Strakka’s newly announced LMP1 program not expecting to come online until 2017.
