Mirko Bortolotti has secured pole position for the Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai for Grasser Racing Team after a post-session investigation stripped Christopher Mies of his provisional best time.

The Blancpain GT Series champion posted a lap time of 1:56.716 which was 0.101 seconds slower than Mies’ time in his MS7 by WRT-entered Audi R8 LMS.

However, the German later lost his session-topping time to an infringement, pushing his car down to fourth on the grid.

This resulted in the No. 964 Lamborghini of Bortolotti, Christian Engelhart, Rolf Ineichen and Mark Ineichen being promoted to the top spot.

Black Falcon will line up second and third with its pair of Mercedes-AMG GT3s while the BWT Muecke Motorsport Audi will start fifth, behind the WRT car.

The Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai gets underway at 2 p.m. local time on Friday.
