The final round of the ADAC GT Masters season has been moved by two weeks into November to avoid a high-profile GT3 date clash with the Total 24 Hours of Spa.

The German series was set to conclude with two races at Oschersleben across Oct. 24-25, on the same days as the rearranged SRO Motorsports Group centerpiece at Spa.

A new schedule published by the ADAC automobile association has confirmed that the Oschersleben event will now take place on Nov. 6-8.

This marks the second rescheduling of the meeting, which was originally due to open the season as it has done each year since 2008.

On March 16, the Oschersleben round was postponed to October in reaction to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in Germany.

Late last month the 24 Hours of Spa, which is a round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli and GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup, was also pushed back to later in the year.

The resulting October clash would have impacted several drivers and paddock personnel, as well as Team WRT which has four cars in GTWC Europe Endurance and two in GT Masters.

The series, which uses SRO’s Balance of Performance system to manage its GT3 grid, will now end its season one week before the planned GTWC Europe finale at Paul Ricard.

Lausitzring Replaces Czech Round

GT Masters has also confirmed that its season is now set to start in Germany at the Lausitzring, while the fixture at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic has been canceled.

This is because some restrictions on foreign travelers to the Czech Republic are still in place, even though the Most round was not scheduled to be held until August.

Additionally, the visit to Zandvoort has been moved from late August to Oct. 30-Nov. 1 because of the Dutch government’s ban on large events until September.

Rounds two to five at the Nürburgring, Hockenheim, the Sachsenring and the Red Bull Ring have all kept their original dates.

ADAC has vowed to implement social distancing regulations at all of its 2020 GT Masters headline events, which are also attended by various support series.

2020 ADAC GT Masters Schedule (Revised):
Jul. 31-Aug. 2 – Lausitzring
Aug. 14-16 – Nürburgring
Sep. 18-20 – Hockenheim
Oct. 2-4 – Sachsenring
Oct. 16-18 – Red Bull Ring
Oct. 30-Nov. 1 – Zandvoort
Nov. 6-8 – Oschersleben
