Kessel Sweeps Practice 3 in Abu Dhabi

Kessel Racing led the way in the third and final practice session at Yas Marina Circuit prior to qualifying for tomorrow’s Gulf 12 Hours.

The Swiss squad ended the 80-minute session 1-2-3 overall and in class, led my the No. 12 Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 of Kola Aluko, Thomas Kemenater and Giacomo Piccini with a 2:11.355 lap time.

Quickest of the non-Kessel entries was the No. 1 AF Corse Ferrari in fourth, followed by Thursday morning’s pace-setting No. 3 Team Abu Dhabi by Black Falcon Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3, which completed the top-five.

The M-Sport Bentley Continental GT3 continued to make gains, with the Guy Smith, Steven Kane and Andy Meyrick-driven entry posting the sixth quickest time overall and in the GT3 class.

The No. 94 Avelon Formula Wolf GB08 posted the quickest time in the CN class, while the No. 90 Nova Race Ginetta G50 GT4 paced GTX.

Qualifying gets underway at 3:10 p.m. local.
