Five BMW M6 GT3s will enter next month’s Nürburgring 24, as the German manufacturer bids for its 20th outright victory at the Eifel enduro.

ROWE Racing is slated to run two cars with seven drivers, although the exact combinations are not yet known.

Factory assets Connor De Phillippi, Alexander Sims, Martin Tomcyk, Jesse Krohn, Nicky Catsburg and John Edwards have been confirmed, as has Ford works GT driver Richard Westbrook.

Recent signing De Phillippi won last year’s race with the Land Motorsport Audi squad and recently claimed victory at the second VLN round of the season alongside Krohn.

Walkenhorst Motorsport also has two BMWs entered, with one featuring Augusto Farfus, Fabian Schiller, Markus Palttala and Christian Krognes.

Farfus was part of the last BMW crew to win the N24 back in 2010, when the Brazilian co-drove an BMW M3 GT2 with Pedro Lamy, Uwe Alzen and Joerg Mueller.

Walkenhorst’s second car involves a pro-am lineup, with Jordan Tresson, Henry Walkenhorst, Andreas Ziegler and Ralf Oeverhaus – winner of last year’s SP7 category – set to share driving duties.

The final BMW entry belongs to Falken Motorsport, which is running Alexandre Imperatori, Stef Dusseldorp, Peter Dumbreck and Jens Klingmann.

“This year, we will have many of our best GT drivers in the BMW M6 GT3 on the Nordschleife again,” said BMW Motorsport director Jens Marquardt.

“They include almost all the regular drivers from our programs in the WEC and IMSA series – Augusto, Alex, Martin and Nick are four of them – as well as experienced Nordschleife experts like Richard, Jens and Markus.

“They have a huge amount of talent and a wealth of experience on the most demanding race track in the world: those are the ideal prerequisites for a strong BMW result.”
