KCMG will enter a pair of 2018-spec Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3s in the Blancpain GT Series Asia as part of a new partnership between the Hong Kong-based team and Japanese manufacturer.

It will be the first time a Nissan has entered the series, which goes into its second season this year.

The team ran a pair of Audi R8 LMS GT3s in the championship last year and makes the switch to Nissan machinery with a currently unannounced driver lineup.

“I’m delighted to share this exciting news to everyone and we’re especially thrilled to be the exclusive team to unleash the new Godzilla in Blancpain GT Series Asia,” said KCMG head of motorsport Ryuji Doi.

“It is such a massive honor for KCMG and we would like to thank NISMO for extending their confidence and trust in us.

“We are preparing a strong driver lineup, backed by a team of engineers and mechanics who have helped us in our successful three-year campaign in WEC, Le Mans and Blancpain GT Series Asia.

“With a strong package and a formidable team, we’re confident that we’re in for a top season ahead.”

Blancpain GT Plans for New Car TBD

Nissan has yet to detail its European-based plans for the new-spec car, although the car is expected to compete in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup.

RJN Motorsport has fielded Nissan entries in SRO’s flagship championship in recent years, including a two-car factory-backed program last year.
