This year’s Total 24 Hours of Spa could see a record grid, with 60 cars already confirmed and more expected for the twice-around-the-clock Belgian endurance classic, which serves as the flagship round for the Blancpain GT Series.

SRO Motorsports Group and race officials unveiled the official poster for the event on Saturday at Monza, the site of this weekend’s Blancpain Endurance Cup season-opener, hinting that a final grid of up to 75 cars could be achieved.

The previous record for the event, under SRO management, was 66 cars in 2013.

“It’s looking extremely promising,” SRO Motorsports Group founder and CEO Stephane Ratel said.

“Sophie [Peyrat] and all of the team relations are doing a fantastic job. I think they’re personal friends to all of the team owners and managers in Europe.

“Laurent Gaudin [Endurance Cup Manager] and Olivier Devos [Event Manager] are concentrating and really working on the organization of the event.”

Ratel said he expects a record number of manufacturers and more involvement in this year’s edition. A total of 11 manufacturers were represented on the grid in 2015.

“It’s an event that has grown in strength and profitability in the last years in a very tremendous way,” he said. “The teams are coming, the drivers are coming and the manufacturers are coming.”

The poster, featuring a Blancpain-liveried Audi R8 LMS, a Mercedes-AMG GT3 in Pirelli colors and a Ferrari 488 GT3 car in a Total livery, pays homage to the Belgian flag, in what Ratel said was designed to show continued support to the nation following last month’s terrorist attacks.
