Following the likes of Fortec Motorsport and ISR Racing, Comtec Racing is considering branching out into GT racing next to its various single seater programs.

JRM completed an entire day of testing at Brands Hatch yesterday, inviting both the 19-year-old South African single seater racer Liam Venter and Comtec Racing at the test.

“We are working with JRM towards a potential program next year with the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3,” said a representative of the British team.

“At the moment the situation looks very encouraging and we find JRM’s team to be hugely helpful and professional, a real must in such a competitive business.

“Liam has tested and raced for us in WSR and Auto GP and then Craig introduced us to the people at JRM and things have move along from there. There’s a way to go yet but everyone is pulling in the same direction so there’s good reason to be optimistic.”

Venter is due to test again with JRM next week before returning home to South Africa.

New teams are expected to compete with the Nissan GT3 next season, with JRM aiming to be present in the Pro-Cup of both the Blancpain Endurance and Sprint Series.
