The Acura NSX GT3 is poised to make its international debut next year, with Honda set to reveal European race plans for the mid-engined sports car.

Honda has scheduled a press conference for Thursday at Spa, site of this weekend’s Total 24 Hours of Spa, for the “launch of an exciting new motor racing project,” which is understood to be the NSX GT3’s European race program for 2018.

The car, built by JAS Motorsport, currently competes under the Acura badge in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Pirelli World Challenge with Michael Shank Racing and RealTime Racing, respectively, with single-year factory supported agreements.

Plans have been in place to make the cars available to customers for next year, although Honda Performance Development, which has spearheaded the project in North America, has yet to finalize details.

A handful of European teams, including a veteran German GT squad, have been linked to potential programs with the car, which would run under the Honda nameplate in championships such as the Blancpain GT Series.
