The date for next year’s California 8 Hours at Mazda Raceway Laguna has been moved back one week, SRO Motorsports Group has revealed.

The event, originally announced for Oct. 19-21, will now take place on Oct. 26-28.

News of the change came Friday evening during SRO’s 25th anniversary celebration in Paris, with expected confirmation to come from PWC and the circuit next week.

It’s understood the change was made due to both the Formula One U.S. Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas and SCCA Runoffs at Sonoma Raceway taking place on the original weekend, thus providing a challenge to have a sufficient staff of trackside marshals.

Additionally, SRO’s proposed ‘GT3 Cup of Nations’ race, to be held in Sochi, is provisionally listed for Oct. 20-21.

The 2018 IGTC calendar will see the debut of the Suzuka 10 Hours in August, which replaces the Sepang 12 Hours, which has been canceled for this year.

2018 Intercontinental GT Challenge Schedule (Revised):

Feb. 2-4 – Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour (Australia)
July 26-29 – Total 24 Hours of Spa (Belgium)
Aug. 25-26 – Suzuka 10 Hours (Japan)
Oct. 27-28 – California 8 Hours (United States)
