Scott Hargrove will be looking to extends his points lead in the overall Pirelli World Challenge GT championship as the series heads to Virginia International Raceway for the second SprintX event of the season.

A total of 99 entries, across the GT, GT Cup, GTS ,TCR, TC and TCA classes, are set to take part this weekend.

ENTRY LIST: VIR

Hargrove, driver of the No. 96 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R, holds a narrow two-point lead over R. Ferri Motorport’s Toni Vilander, who claimed a runner-up finish in the Sprint round at Long Beach earlier this month.

While the Hargrove hasn’t returned to victory lane since his sweep of the season-opening weekend at St. Pete, the Canadian has consistency on his side, and will again be joined by Wolf Henzler this weekend.

Thirteen GT3-spec cars are currently on the provisional entry list, with no major changes since the first SprintX round of the season at Circuit of The Americas last month.

At least one additional car could be joining the grid, with TruSpeed Autosport’s second Audi R8 LMS understood to be racing this weekend.

While the GTC class sees a two-car entry, a massive 38-car field is set to do battle in GTS, split between Pro-Am pairings as well as the Am class.

The new-for-2018 TCR class also sees a boosted entry, with 14 cars entered.

Official track action kicks off on Friday, with a pair of separate 60-minute races for GT and GTS scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
