Longtime IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama entrant Kelly Moss Motorsports announced Thursday an expansion into Pirelli World Challenge next year, which will see the Wisconsin-based team field three Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars in the newly launched GT Cup Championship.

2014 Porsche GT3 Cup champion Colin Thompson will lead Kelly Moss’ PWC effort, with the team seeking additional funded drivers to fill the two remaining seats.

“We were looking to continue our relationship and development of Colin,” team owner Jeff Stone said. “This was the next logical step for him in the U.S. before the Carrera Cup.

“We want like-minded people that are looking to compete for championships, whether that’s young drivers that want to develop their craft or gentleman drivers looking for a top-quality experience. We are looking to make it cost effective for everyone.”

Kelly Moss will join fellow IMSA squad NGT Motorsport in fielding entries in both PWC and IMSA GT3 Cup next year.

“GT3 will be a primary series for us,” Stone added. “But Pirelli World Challenge offers a unique opportunity for us. We have the capacity and staff to make it work and make it so that we are competing for championships in both series.”
