Motul Team RJN will not compete in next weekend’s California 8 Hours at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, with plans for the British squad to run in the Intercontinental GT Challenge round not materializing.

A pair of Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3s with to-be-announced driver lineups appeared on the entry list for next weekend’s race.

However, Nissan tweeted out confirmation on Thursday that it will not take part in the race.

It’s understood damage from the No. 22 car in last weekend’s Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup season finale at Barcelona contributed to the reason to forgo the event.

Both of the RJN-run Nissans would have had to be air-freighted directly from Spain to California.

It reduces the entry for the first-ever U.S. round of the IGTC to 20 cars, featuring seven different manufacturers between three classes.
