TR3 Ferrari Paces Opening SprintX Practice

TR3 Racing Ferrari leads way in SprintX Practice 1…

TR3 Racing has topped the time charts in the first Pirelli World Challenge SprintX practice session of the weekend at Utah Motorsports Campus.

The No. 31 Ferrari 488 GT3, co-driven by Daniel Mancinelli and Niccolo Schiro posted a quick time of 1:48.770 in Friday’s 60-minute session, which was interrupted once for a red flag.

The Ferrari edged out the No. 43 RealTime Racing Acura NSX GT3 of Ryan Eversley and Tom Dyer by 0.320 seconds, with the No. 3 Cadillac ATS-V.R of Johnny O’Connell and Ricky Taylor third on the time sheets and in GT Pro-Pro.

Defending PWC GT champion Alvaro Parente was fourth in the No. 9 K-PAX Racing McLaren 650S GT3, which he is sharing with Ben Barnicoat this weekend, with the No. 54 Black Swan Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 making it five different manufacturers in the top-five overall.

The Jeroen Bleekemolen and Tim Pappas-driven Mercedes also led the way in GT Pro-Am, with the No. 75 Always Evolving/AIM Autosport Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 second quickest in class with the 7th quickest time overall.

GT Am-Am, meanwhile, was led by the No. 013 R. Ferri Motorsport Ferrari 458 Italia GT3, with the No. 46 TruSpeed Autosport Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, a late addition to the grid this weekend, pacing GT Cup.

The No. 019 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW M3 E46 was quickest of the SprintX GTS competitors.

A second hour-long SprintX practice is set for 2:40 p.m. MT.
