A late flyer by Alec Udell put GMG Racing on top of the time charts again in the second Pirelli World Challenge SprintX practice session at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on Friday.

Udell laid down a 1:25.450 lap time in the No. 14 GMG Porsche 911 GT3 R to bump Michael Lewis’ No. 98 Calvert Dynamics Porsche, which had topped the time charts for the majority of the 30-minute session.

Lewis ended up second quickest the Calvert Dynamics entry, followed by the No. 19 Stephen Cameron Racing Audi R8 LMS ultra of Kyle Marcelli in third.

The No. 79 Alex Job Racing Porsche of Gunnar Jeannette and the Dion von Moltke-driven No. 23 M1 GT Racing Audi R8 LMS completed the top-five overall and in the Pro-Am-enforced GT class.

ANSA Motorsports led the way in GT Cup with its Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, while the No. 37 Calvert Dynamics Ford Mustang Boss 302R of Andrew Aquilante was quickest in GTS, despite an off at the end of the session.

The session saw a red flag with 11 minutes remaining for an incident involving the No. 7 TRG-AMR Aston Martin Vantage GT4, which was stuck in the gravel.

Qualifying is set for 3:35 p.m. PT.

RESULTS: Practice 2
