For the first time, sports car racing veteran David Murry will have the opportunity to drive with his son, Dylan, in this month’s IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Race at Daytona.

The four-hour race, the BMW Endurance Challenge at Daytona, will see the Murrys team up with car owner Jim Cox in the No. 38 BGB Motorsports Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR.

“This is such a great opportunity for Dylan and me to race together,” said David Murry. “We’re so grateful to Jim Cox and John Tecce from BGB Motorsports for making this happen. We’re very excited to get on track at the end of the month.”

David Murry has been a part-time driver in recent years having instead focused on his growing David Murry Track Days operation as well as his son’s driving career. He last drove for BGB at Watkins Glen in 2008 and won the race.

Dylan Murry, who will be making his IMSA debut, has been racing since the age of six and has claimed 12 championships, along with 60 feature career wins.

He also competed in two NASCAR K&N Pro Series East races last year, finishing in the top 10 at both Greenville Pickens Speedway and Watkins Glen International.

“I’m so excited to make my IMSA debut,” said Dylan Murry. “It will definitely be an incredible experience. To be able to have my dad as a teammate is just unbelievable. Mr. Cox and Mr. Tecce have been so supportive and I can’t thank them enough.”
