Christian Hohenadel has replaced Indy Dontje in the No. 57 Winward/HTP Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT4 for the three of the four remaining Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge races this season.

The former FIA GT3 European champion will team up with team owner Bryce Ward in the GT4 contender for the rounds at Road America, Virginia International Raceway and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

Dontje will return to the team for the season finale at Road Atlanta in October.

Hohenadel, who is a regular with the German-based HTP squad, tested with Winward at Virginia International Raceway in June.

“The VIR test was helpful with regards to learning the track but it was also really valuable as I now have some experience of the Continental race tire,” Hohenadel said.

“The AMG GT4 is familiar to me as I was involved with the development of the chassis last year. Having worked with the Winward/HTP Motorsport team prior to this weekend is also really helpful as I can go to Road America with a much better understanding of how the team operates and how they like to do things.”

The team’s lineup of Russel Ward and Damien Faulkner in the No. 33 Mercedes GT4 remains unchanged.

“I’m looking forward to building on our momentum from Lime Rock Park and to what should be a fantastic race this weekend,” Bryce Ward said.
