Lazare Takes CTSC Pole at Laguna Seca

Jesse Lazare has claimed pole for this afternoon’s Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, in a return to form for Motorsport In Action.

Lazare laid down a fast lap of 1:32.803 in the No. 69 McLaren 570S GT4 to edge out the No. 28 RS1 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR of Spencer Pumpelly by 0.054 seconds.

It marked the third consecutive pole for McLaren but first for the Canadian squad this season.

Tyler McQuarrie will start third in the No. 39 CarBahn Motorsports Audi R8 LMS GT4, followed by GS championship leader Owen Trinkler in the No. 46 Team TGM Mercedes-AMG GT4 in fourth.

Nate Stacy made it five different GT4 manufacturers in the top-five, in the No. 60 Roush Performance/KohR Motorsports Ford Mustang GT4.

O’Gorman Claims TCR Pole

Tom O’Gorman stormed to another pole in TCR, taking his No. 12 eEuroparts.com Racing Audi RS 3 LMS TCR to a quick lap of 1:34.044.

O’Gorman was 0.562 seconds quicker than Britt Casey Jr. in the No. 77 Compass Racing Audi TCR, and impressively set the 9th fastest time overall, among the GS class entries.

Nick Galante, meanwhile, scored pole in ST in the No. 81 BimmerWorld BMW 328i, which outpaced the pair of MINI JCWs.

It marked Galante’s fifth class pole of the season.

The WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca 120 gets underway at 3:15 p.m. PDT (6:15 p.m. EDT) with live coverage on IMSA.tv.
