Premat Paces Friday Practice at CTMP

Alexandre Premat led the way in practice for Saturday’s Canadian Tire Motorsport Park 120, with Mercedes-AMG GT4s topping the time charts in both timed sessions for Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge competitors on Friday.

The Frenchman laid down a quick lap of 1:24.445 in the No. 92 Ramsey Racing Mercedes in the 60-minute morning session, outpacing the No. 60 Roush Performance/KohR Motorsports Ford Mustang GT4 of Kyle Marcelli by 0.161 seconds.

Both times, as well as the third-placed No. 28 RS1 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR of Spencer Pumpelly from the morning, were quicker than Damien Faulkner’s 1:24.853, which set the pace in the afternoon session.

The Watkins Glen-winning No. 8 Multimatic Motorsports Mustang GT4 of Patrick Gallagher was second on the time sheets in Practice 2.

Compass Racing was quickest in TCR, thanks to Kuno Wittmer’s 1:26.446 in the No. 74 Audi RS 3 LMS TCR, which topped the time sheets in both sessions.

Devin Jones, meanwhile, topped ST in the No. 81 BimmerWorld BMW 328i, in a time set in the opening session.

A final 15-minute practice is scheduled for Saturday at 9:50 a.m. EDT, followed immediately by qualifying.
