Pumpelly Snatches CTSC Pole at Sebring

Spencer Pumpelly claimed pole position for Friday’s IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race at Sebring, snatching the top spot away from Alexandre Premat on his last flying lap.

It is the second consecutive pole to start the season for RS1, which won at Daytona in January from the top spot.

Pumpelly’s pole-winning lap of 2:11.611 in the No. 28 RS1 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR was a mere 0.059 seconds quicker than Premat in the No. 92 Ramsey Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4.

Patrick Gallagher will start third in the No. 8 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang GT4 with Corey Fergus alongside in fourth in the No. 69 Motorsports In Action McLaren 570S GT4.

Compass Racing swept the top three spots in TCR qualifying with Britt Casey Jr. setting the pace in the No. 77 Audi RS3 LMS TCR ahead of Rodrigo Sales and Roy Block in the No. 74 and No. 75 Audis, respectively.

Casey earned his first career TCR pole by 1.931 seconds over Sales in second place.

Luke Rumberg was fourth fastest in the only Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR in the field for Rumcastle.

Nate Norenberg scored his first career ST pole in the No. 37 MINI JCW Team entry, ahead of his teammate Mike LaMarra in the sister No. 73 MINI.

BimmerWorld Racing’s Nick Galante and Jared Salinsky in the No. 52 MINI will start third and fourth in class.

Friday’s Alan Jay Automotive Network 120 is scheduled for a 2:45 p.m. ET start.

The race will be streamed live on IMSA.tv or the IMSA mobile app, with audio commentary provided by IMSA Radio.
